Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox born December 25 of 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox received a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. She was able to survive on a student salary and part-time work to help supplement her income. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was unhappy in her performance when compared to that of her peers. Then she began to consider alternatives. Lennox started out as a flute-player in the band Dragons Playground. The group did not make it to the competition for talent New Faces on I.T.V. The main part of her role was the lead singer in The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. Then, Lennox began to work for her debut album as a solo artist Diva and it was released in the year 1992. The album had a tremendous success both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album by herself was released in October of 2014. This C.D. Lennox has selected her top jazz, blues and soul tunes. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four improvised tracks for piano, which Lennox made available in May 2019. The E.P. The first single from her debut album, Now I Letting You Go... is the soundtrack to her exhibit of work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Annie Lennox born December 25 1954 is an Scottish philanthropist political activist and music producer and singer. The Tourists were a new-wave group that had some popularity in the latter part of 1970s. Later, Lennox became a part of the band with the band with fellow musician Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. The year 1992 was the year Lennox began her solo career with her debut album Diva that produced a number of hit songs, such as Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa is the album she recorded as her first studio album in 1995. It features cover versions of songs like The No MoreI I Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. Her solo studio albums as well as her compilation album include a number of songs. |
