Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on the 25th of December in 1954, at Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox was a student at her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London during the 1970s. She took a course in harpsichord and flautist piano over three years. She was able to survive with the stipend she received from her students as she worked part-time. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and contemplated a possible alternative route she could take. Lennox was a flute player in the band Dragons Playground. However, she left before her band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. She was the main singer for The Tourists a British pop band from 1977 to 1980. The band was where she met Dave Stewart and together they created the duo Eurythmics. After that, Lennox began working on her first solo album Diva which was released in 1992. The album had a tremendous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs Six solo album, released in October 2014 included Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. Lennox chose her most loved blues and soul tunes. Lepidoptera contains four improvised keyboard tracks. This E.P. The E.P. is her first self-produced album as well as a follow-up to the art installation she designed at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art named Now I Let You go... They would go on, through the 1980s to be the cult duo Eurythmics. The year 1992 was the year Lennox started her own solo career, releasing the release of her first album Diva with a variety of successful tracks, including Why and Walking through Broken Glass.
